She started her career at Helset IF as a left winger at the age of 7. In 2007 she moved to Fjellhammer IL, where she scored 50 goals in 16 league games in her first season (3.13 goals against average). In 2008, she joined Stabaek IF, where she played with her sister Hanna and became a centerback. In November 2010, she participated in the World Junior Championship and on 26 November she made her debut for the Norwegian senior national team. In 2013, she moved to France as Oftedal was signed to Issy Paris. In her first season in France, she was awarded the best player of the season at the end of the championship. In 2017, she was signed by Győr, about which the then 25-year-old player said: Stine Oftedal: Sometimes I have to pinch myself for not dreaming (Here is where the arrival of the centerback was announced: Győri Audi ETO - Oftedal Signed for 3 years). Three-time world champion (2011; 2015; 2021), four-time European champion (2012; 2014; 2016; 2020), bronze medallist at the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2021 Olympics. With the Hungarian team, she has been crowned European champion twice (2018; 2019) and has won three gold medals in the championship ( 2018; 2019; 2022) and the Hungarian Cup (2018; 2019; 2021).In 2017, she met his partner, THW Kiel winger Rune Dahmke. She also tried athletics as a child.
