She started her career at Helset IF as a left winger at the age of 7. In 2007 she moved to Fjellhammer IL, where she scored 50 goals in 16 league games in her first season (3.13 goals against average). In 2008, she joined Stabaek IF, where she played with her sister Hanna and became a centerback. In November 2010, she participated in the World Junior Championship and on 26 November she made her debut for the Norwegian senior national team. In 2013, she moved to France as Oftedal was signed to Issy Paris.
